Our last few days

After moving into our new place, unpacking, showering and relaxing our holiday really began. We initially had grand designs to walk the cross island trail but a soon as I fell into a hammock those were long gone. In the mornings we woke to a breakfast of fresh local fruits, local coffee and sweetbreads. Instead we spent days lazing around in the sun and playing Frisbee on the beach. I enjoyed sunbathing and my tan really started to take (ok I know 15 weeks in!!). We went into town a few times either by hitching a ride or taking the bus.

The only other people staying at our place was a great family from Queenstown in NZ, Joanne was from England and Alan from Australia, their two kids Amanda 15 and XXX 17 were great too. We headed off to dinner with them one night and all got on so well. We rallied them into cricket on the beach and took it in turns to snorkel and kayak. Life was hard.
It was Amanda's birthday while they were there so we all went to dinner and Stephanie who worked at the resort also came along. It was so much fun and we even got to can-can to New York New York .. I was in my element.

As the days went by, we were saddened that our trip was coming to an end coupled with the knowledge that I would be returning to England once we got to LA, being apart was hard to imagine. We decided to bring Valentines day forward and had a really nice meal at Trader Jacks which was recommended by Darren and Sadie in NZ. It was lovely.

We spent our last day over at the east side of the island and I went snorkeling, there were so many fish all around me and I was only in water that was about 3' deep. It was so cool but a little scary with them being so close.

Then came the packing and heading to the airport, our flight was at midnight but luckily was on time. We took the bus to the airport and sat waiting for the flight saddened that our trip had ended but excited for our future.
