Counting down the days!

Last Wednesday after a week long delay Sarah received her U.S. visa! What a relief that was! Since we are not actually packing anything and there are no boxes piling up around the house the reality of leaving had not set in. After the visa arrived though and we made plans to visit my friend Chris from work and his wife in New Zealand it started feel like we were actually going. Now with only 7 working days I am as excited as ever. Checking the weather reports in India every few days and watching the monsoon season receded brings hope to my cold wet bones after a particularly miserable English summer. Our traveling backpacks are going together nicely as well and our resistance to taking too much stuff is paying off as they are not too heavy or bulky though I'm sure my thoughts around this will change in 95 degree heat. Sarah has just bought herself a new camera as well so we should be able to provide a snapshot of our journey. As our days left in England diminish the goodbyes will increase and become more difficult. First the work acquaintances, then the friendships that I've built over 3.5 years and finally Sarah's family. Though we're looking forward to our travels and new life friends and family here will be missed and we can only hope and work to continue keep those bonds strong. Well that's all for now. I'll try to post again before we leave on the 22nd.
