Mui Ne - Beach life again and then Saigon

We took a bus for 4 hours to Mui Ne, which is along the coast to the East. This was described as a small beach town where wind and kite surfers congregate. We arrived on a dusty one road town just after lunchtime and quickly were met (as usual) by a stream of motorbike riders trying to offer us accommodation at guest houses along the beach road. We each jumped on the back of one each(with backpacks as well!!) and headed down the road. We were looking for cheap as we had spent over our budget on the room in Saigon ($17 / night). We were offered $8-10 rooms at first but we suggested we tried down the road further as we wanted cheaper !! We found a nice room which was a stone's throw from the beach for $6 / night and we got the sound of the waves lapping thrown in for free.

We decided to hire some bicycles as the road was flat and we felt the exercise would do us good as we have not really done any as such since we started the trip. They were very hoopdee looking and very uncomfortable. We headed down to some interesting looking restaurants on the beach to check out dinner options. As we were riding back, Ryan's crank on his left pedal came lose and therefore the pedal no longer worked. So first (being a good biker) he tried to ride with just the one pedal, after that failed he tried to push himself off the pavement with one foot whilst standing on one of the pedals with the other. After he tired of that we decided he would hang onto the back of my bike so I was then pedalling for two.. at least the exercise did me good.
We cycled into town for dinner, after having a happy hour beer and lovely sweet potato crisps at Jibes - the cool looking surf shop and restaurant and Ryan looking cool inside it!

Then we went across the road for dinner where I chose my dinner from a bucket - a lovely alive red snapper. The waiter even brought it to our table before heading to its death - it snapped its tail at me which I took as it wasn't that happy to be BBQ'd oh well. (sorry to the veggies out there). After dinner we cycled home to bed.
The next day we decided to head back to Saigon, however the bus wasn't until after lunch so I got some well deserved sunbathing in on the loungers on the beach.
After our 4/5 hour bus ride back into Saigon, we were again met with a number of people offering us their guesthouse rooms. We followed one lady who showed us a nice room for just $10 so we took it and headed back for some of that nice German Dark Beer. Although we made the mistake of ordering a 1lt each and the peanuts that we also ordered I don't think were enough on an empty stomach. We decided to find somewhere close to have dinner and we stumbled across a place we had seen before - a garden BBQ. It was such a great place and I want to a) buy the idea and franchise it and b) have one in my garden. It was a table with a gas grill plate in the middle. We were brought a plate of 5 types of beef each with gorgeous marinades and we put pieces on the grill and cooked it as we wanted it ... mmmmm doesn't not describe it enough.
We then headed back to the room late after a stroll back through the streets of Saigon, we had an early start in the morning.
We got up to go to the bus to Cambodia and decided to grab some breakfast for the journey before embarking. We found a great bakery that sold fab croissants and sugary ring donuts... perfect. After 2 hours on the bus we reached the Cambodia border, a formal affair it seemed. We got off the bus and headed with our bags to check out of Vietnam. We then walked through "No mans land" between the borders walking our way to Cambodia.
