Oh so the title doesn't really work.. but hey! The border crossing was interesting although fairly straightforward. First they wake you around 7.00 as the Malaysian immigration and border patrol check you out, the walk down the carriage and sign your passport and take out your departure card (which you get on entry) seemed simple. Then to enter Singapore you have to get off the train with your luggage and go through passport control, customs and bag X-Ray before getting back on the train. Worked ok but we arrived in Singapore 1 hr later than planned but as it was only.y 9.30am it didn't matter. We walked to the underground and headed to our hostel. Seemed very busy at the Inn Crowd http://www.the-inncrowd.com/ and then went for breakfast, Ryan settled for Duck noodles and I tried wonton noodles after being told they were pork - they were prawn and pork and not good so I headed for a muffin at Starbucks (I know I am rubbish).
We then went back to check in as we had to wait until 12 to be able to, I was feeling a little tired still from my cold so Ryan headed out to more IT malls, whilst I stayed in the hostel and watched the DVD Elizabeth with Cate Blanchett - I thought it would good. I then found a local supermarket to buy some fruit and soup from for dinner.
After some dinner we headed to Clarke Quay with the promise of free flowing martini's for ladies but when we got there they had changed the promotion for that night! So we grabbed some food and looked at all the other bars which were very pricey for our budget but really nice looking. This waterfront area is our favourite in Singapore but not good for backpacking funds.
So back to our place with some beers in hand we decided to duel on the Foosball table, i had some cool moves as did Ryan so lets call it a draw (in fact we played many games so I am not sure who the winner was). Someone from the UK had a DVD of The Office which we both love so that was amusing and then off to bed in our 12 bedded dorm room!
